Prolific Prep Makes Triumphant Return to Napa in Friday Night Rout

Napa Valley, Calif. — One of the most anticipated moments of the 10th annual Crush in the Valley basketball showcase unfolded Friday night as Prolific Prep returned to Napa Valley College, a building that served as home for the program for more than a decade. Now based in Florida, Prolific Prep looked anything but unfamiliar with the floor, delivering a dominant 91–52 victory over DNA Prep in front of a crowd well aware of the program’s deep roots in Napa.

From the opening tip, Prolific Prep asserted its will on both ends of the court. Coach Ryan Bernardi’s group pushed the pace, defended with purpose, and shared the basketball, quickly creating separation and never allowing DNA Prep to settle into any rhythm. By halftime, the outcome was firmly in hand.

While the score line told the story of control, the balance in the box score highlighted just how deep this Prolific Prep roster is. Five players finished in double figures, underscoring the unselfish approach that has long defined the program.

Nasir “Roy” Anderson and Aaron Ona-Embo led the way with 15 points apiece, setting the tone with their efficiency and defensive pressure. Caleb Holt, ranked No. 5 on ESPN’s Top Players list, followed closely with 14 points, showcasing his all-around game. Future Ohio State Buckeye Alex Smith added 10 points, as did Davion Adkins, rounding out a complete offensive performance.

DNA Prep struggled to match Prolific Prep’s tempo and depth. Shameek Casillas paced DNA Prep with 10 points, but the team was unable to generate consistent offense against Prolific’s disciplined defense.

The victory marked a symbolic homecoming for Prolific Prep — albeit in unfamiliar uniforms and from a new home base — as the program continues to carry its Napa legacy forward on a national stage.

Up Next at Crush in the Valley:

  • Prolific Prep will take on Bella Vista on Saturday, followed by a matchup with Mode Prep on Sunday.
  • DNA Prep returns to action Saturday against SEPA and will close the weekend Sunday versus Bella Vista.

Friday’s performance served as a clear statement: regardless of geography, Prolific Prep remains a national powerhouse — and its connection to Napa Valley remains firmly intact.
